As you can tell from my portfolio, I hardly ever do family portraits. I just find that my eclectic and slightly warped style doesn’t really lend itself to generic Sears family photos. I couldn’t shoot a traditional family portrait if I tried. However, once or twice a blue moon a really open-minded family comes along and gives me carte blanche to do whatever I want with their kids, as long as I capture their personality. I headed back up to Kip’s Castle this Summer for a family session with the Solomine’s that was literally two years in the making. We had a blast and I think the photos are some of my best family photos ever. Well, except for my Chinatown Hustler portfolio. But I don’t think I’m ever going to pull off something like that again. Thanks Kerri for letting me photograph your stunning family. You guys rock.
