I’ve been posting a ton of New York engagement photos lately focusing on all the little neighborhoods that are far removed from the hustle and bustle of Times Square or most NYC tourist traps. When Rachel and Ariel reached out to me regarding their portraits session they brought up the possibility of doing West Village engagement photos, particularly in the Washington Mews. Washington Mews is a picturesque little block nestled in the West Village near Washington Square Park and Thompson Street. I had never heard of it, but I was stoked to shoot in a new location.

After a quick stop for some excellent iced coffee at Kopi Kopi NYC, we walked over the the Mews for a few photos while trying to avoid the chaotic crowds that flood Manhattan on most beautiful spring days. Rachel and Ariel were up for anything and put up with all of my silly posing requests. We made our way to Washington Square Park, which was awash with a sea of locals trying to get some sun and take advantage of the lovely afternoon. None of that mattered as the sun lowered over the skyline and I got to capture some adorable images of Rachel and Ariel as they took in the neighborhood that they fell in love in and live in. Here are some of my favorite photos from the shoot.
